My friend Psy Guy recently had a post about sexual predators. You can read it here if you like. He had a link to the Texas Sex Offender Database. You should take a look at it. I checked my zip code and was very disturbed by the results. There were 15 registered sex offenders in my zip code. 2 of them live in my subdivision. 1 is only a few houses down from me. 1 lives in my parent's subdivision, where I grew up. Of the 15, 14 were convicted of offenses related to children, ages 3-15.

There's a mapping feature which I tried as well, but it doesn't pull up any of the offender's information. In fact, people were shown on the map (not on the database) and when I clicked for information it told me that no info could be found in the database. So I'm not sure how up to date this information is, but everyone should look for this information for their area. You'll be stunned by the results.
