Great TV
Yes, yes, we all know it's hard to come by. Especially in this deluge of "reality" TV. God I hate those shows! But I've found a diamond in a sea of coal. House, on Fox on Tuesday night, is a great show. I normally dislike medical dramas, too technical to be entertaining, and the yuck factor...Don't get me started.
But House stars Hugh Laurie as an irreverent sarcastic doctor, which chronic pain and a drug problem. His cutting antisocial wit makes the show worth watching. You'd hate him, if it wasn't obvious that he's brilliant. This show has a nice blend of detective drama in it, mixed with the medical aspect. They deal with only mysterious illnesses and spend the episode trying to solve the mystery.
In addition to Hugh Laurie, the shows stars Omar Epps & Robert Sean Leonard (who I'll admit I've loved since Dead Poet's Society). If you haven't watched it, I suggest you give it a try. For all the Whedon fans who are missing Buffy, Angel & Firefly, this show has the wit and intelligence that Joss' shows have.
